Pay:

HK$158,552 to HK$182,669 [HMPS point 20 to 24] per month including Monthly Allowance

 

 

 

 

 

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Resident Architect will be responsible for the following main duties:

  1. Act as the Architect’s representative on site and liaise and co-ordinate with the project team, consultants, contractor and other parties on matters related to design intent and shop drawings, architectural details, buildability, materials and workmanship, builders’ work requirements, statutory compliance, contract requirements and site progress.
  2. Manage and supervise the Resident Site Staff to oversee the planning and implementation of the projects.
  3. Manage and enhance quality, safety, environmental performance and risk management measures of site works.
  4. Manage effectively and smoothly the interface between the respective hospitals, government departments, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  5. Monitor and appraise the performance of building contractors.
  6. Monitor closely contractor’s progress according to the agreed programme, identify risks and reasons for any delay and advise on necessary prevention, mitigation and regulatory actions.
  7. Report regularly to the Project Steering Committees on the work plan, schedule, progress, budget, quality, expenditure and cashflow of the respective projects.
  8. Exercise close monitoring, control, and report of variations, project budget, cashflow and expenditure.
  9. Any other duties as required to facilitate implementation of the projects and the division including job rotation to other relevant posts within and outside the division.

 

Entry Requirements:

  1. Member of a professional institution, i.e. the Hong Kong Institute of Architects disciplines or equivalent with at least 10 years’ post qualification experience.
  2. Practical experience of project management for large scale capital works projects.

 

Preferable Attributes/Exposure:

  1. Sound knowledge of construction contract management.
  2. Conversant with Hong Kong construction and building related legislations and government procedures on delivering public capital works projects.
  3. Exemplary professional competency, conduct and ethics.
  4. Ability to communicate and present effectively in both English and Chinese.
  5. A high degree of independence, self-motivation, leadership and organizational ability.
  6. Knowledge of MS Office, project management and database software.
