PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) is dedicated to uphold the highest standards in the architectural profession. HKIA offers a well-defined pathway for architects to achieve professional qualification, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and ethical standards. In collaboration with the Architects Registration Board (ARB), HKIA plays a vital role in regulating the profession and safeguarding public interests. Additionally, the Non-Local Architectural Professional (NLAP) scheme allows internationally qualified architects to contribute their expertise to Hong Kong's architectural landscape, enhancing the diversity and quality of the profession. Through these efforts, HKIA ensures that architecture in Hong Kong continues to meet global standards of excellence.
ACCREDITATION OF
ARCHITECTURAL EDUCATION
In collaboration with the Architects Registration Board (ARB), HKIA accredits architectural programs offered by local universities and tertiary institutions, ensuring they meet rigorous professional standards. These accredited programs are not only recognized in Hong Kong but also in Mainland China and several international countries through Mutual Recognition Agreements with respective accrediting authorities. This global recognition enhances the credibility of the qualifications, preparing graduates for successful careers both locally and internationally.
