Aiming to promote the betterment of architecture and general benefits of our members, the Institute primarily functions through the leadership of the Council together with the works of the 6 Boards, 3 Groups and 14 Committees.

Stepping into 2025, the Council is preparing for the formation of the various Groups/ Committees under the new term. 

The list of HKIA Groups/ Committees and their relevant objectives are attached for your reference. By serving on the Groups/ Committees, members would gain relevant experience in the Institute’s works before they could be invited to join the Boards.

The running of the Groups/ Committees is governed by the Institute’s Operations Manual Volume I implemented since 2009. The key requirements on Group/ Committee members are:

1. Willingness to contribute relevant and constructive inputs;
2. Commitment to carry out the works of the Boards, Groups and Committees and attend meetings; and
3. A minimum 50% meeting attendance annually (70% for BEdA Committees).

Frequency of Group/ Committee meetings will be determined by the respective Group/ Committee Chairperson. Your participation will be recognized under the HKIA CPD policy framework.
