HKIQEP - Invitation to Apply Inaugural Senior Professional Entry Scheme
Date: 19 May 2025

The Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals (HKIQEP), is inviting HKIA’s esteemed faculty members with focus on environmental profession training, in particular for those tenured (or substantiated) with more than 15 years of experience, to apply for professional membership through the Inaugural Senior Professional Entry Scheme — a one-off pathway made available in light of the recently promulgated HKIQEP Ordinance.

This special invitation is extended to a select group of senior professionals who have made substantial contributions to the environmental profession. It includes senior officers from government departments, advisors from public and semi-public bodies, leaders from academic institutions, seasoned consultants, and respected members from relevant learned institutes.

HKIQEP will invite interested HKIA Members to apply under this Inaugural Senior Professional Entry Scheme. The application will be processed separately from the traditional route with the endorsement of our support – the application will be placed on a fast-track path under a simplified professional assessment process.  Applications submitted under this scheme will be reviewed with high confidence by the HKIQEP Council. Endorsed candidates have a strong likelihood of being admitted directly as Professional Members, in recognition of their credentials, experience, and reputation.

This is a one-time opportunity; the application process starts from 1 May 2025 and ends on 1 July 2025. After this inaugural round closes on 1 July 2025, any future applications — including from individuals in this invitation list — may only be accepted through the standard Mature Route. That path may involve a longer review timeline and, in some cases, additional assessments before final approval.
