ESF Island School, an old school in the early 70s, has undergone a redevelopment to create a new campus that boasts future educational facilities with total covered area of approx. 30,940m2, twice of the size of the original campus on the same site. The campus is situated on a sloping site at the Mid-levels in Hong Kong, which presented technical challenges of requiring a thoughtful design solution to turn them into design opportunities.

THE PATH, as Island School’s core social space, playing a crucial role in creating a vibrant and distinctive atmosphere that shapes students’ school lives. At the lower podium level, in respond to the slope profile, users can enjoy breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour and green landscape surrounding the campus. Educational spaces at upper levels with flexible layout and numerous breakout spaces that align with Island School’s teaching philosophy and vision for future education needs.
