Dear HKIA members,

Please see right-hand sided corner [Call for Paper] poster for the upcoming issue of the HKIA Journal, with the theme of “technology in architecture” and we enthusiastically invite your contribution.

With the objective to use the journal as a platform for greater impact and to promote Hong Kong’s architectural scene, we’d like to introduce an updated editorial format starting from this issue. The journal seeks contribution in two sections to suit the interest and needs of different members and audience:
 

1. VIEWPOINT essays: (2-3000 words, starting with a design or research question) for members who have an investigative mind and interest in Design Research, this section will be topical essays that respond to the issue’s theme. It could be a concept or obersevation that you wish to develop or a research result to share. Feel free to discuss your ideas with us ahead of the full submission deadline!
    
2. DESIGN SHOWCASE: (800-1200 words, starting with a provocative design problem) this section is for members and companies who wish to showcase their recent projects in relation to the current theme, with a shorter descriptive essay and design drawings/images that represents the project’s essence. Projects submitted to this section will be collected, and eventually to build a “HK Architecture Deposity” public database with geotag and searchable features. — it would be an excellent opportunity to promote your work to local and international audiences!
