Overview:

In general, the performance measure of a project manager relies on tracking core project metrics (like time, budget, and scope) alongside leadership skills and stakeholder feedback. Recent surveys reported that the project management professionals have been facing challenges on managing people to their overall performance, those challenges are, namely, People Problems - including challenges with stakeholders and project team members; Organization Problems - including change management and other processes, as well as challenges with management and executives, and a misunderstanding of the project management role within the organization; and Personal Challenges - including challenges with an individual project manager’s lack of personal or organization skills, as well as motivation among the team and themselves, amongst other challenges facing them.

The management of people, in fact, is a vital practice of leading, supporting, and motivating team members to achieve project goals in project management.  While traditional project management focuses heavily on schedules, budgets, and tasks, sensible approaches to people management is important to project management because projects are driven by humans, not just processes, and modern workplaces demand flexibility, empathy, and collaboration over rigid control.

This CPD is intended for the speaker to analyse the potential issues and challenges of managing people in project management and provide suggestions and insights with illustrations to deal with them in ensuring the effective execution of project management projects.
