The Research Fund aims to encourage and support HKIA members in advancing knowledge and practice in architectural field through researches. The research can be theoretical or based on a real-world project.

The applicant is encouraged to nominate a mentor, alternatively the Institute may assign a mentor to assist the research process.

Eligibility
HKIA Fellows, Members, Graduate Members, Associates and Affiliates

Prize

A maximum of HK$50,000 on successful completion of the research within twelve months

Judging Panel

All applications will be reviewed by the Research Fund Vetting Committee under the Board of Educational Affairs (BEdA)

Awardee Sharing

Awarded applicants are required to deliver a CPD Sharing Session with HKIA Members after the reports are accepted by the BEdA

Deadline for Application: 18 September 2026, 5:30pm

Announcement of result: October 2026 (Tentative)
