Dear HKIA Fellows,

Call for Nominations: HKIA Gold Medal 2026

On behalf of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), I am pleased to announce that nominations for the HKIA Gold Medal 2026 are now open.

Established in 2021, the HKIA Gold Medal is the Institute’s highest annual honour, awarded to an individual, or group of individuals, who has made consistent, profound, and distinguished contributions to architecture in Hong Kong.

For the 2026 award, HKIA Fellows are invited to submit nominations. Each Fellow may nominate no more than one candidate during the nomination period from 30 July 2026 to 30 August 2026, inclusive.

All nominations received from Fellows will be submitted by the Secretariat to the Nomination Committee for anonymous vetting, without disclosure of the nominator’s identity, to determine eligibility in accordance with the award’s rules and objectives. Eligible nominations, together with nominations from the Nomination Committee, will then be forwarded to the Selection Panel, which comprises Past Presidents and representatives from academia, public utilities, and the community, for final selection of this year’s recipient.

The award presentation will take place at the HKIA Gala Dinner, scheduled for the end of November this year.

All proceedings are strictly confidential. Nominators are requested NOT to disclose their nominations to any party, including the nominee. The composition of the Nomination Committee and the Selection Panel will remain undisclosed until the announcement of the award recipient, in the interests of fairness and impartiality.

The names of nominees will not be disclosed during or after the selection process. Nomination documents will be accessible only to authorized members of the relevant committees and designated Secretariat staff, and will be securely destroyed after the selection process is completed.
