Overview:
How is generative AI reshaping architectural practice—and what tensions emerge between creative freedom and professional precision?
Before we can respond to the question of how artificial intelligence (AI) can be applied to architectural practice, we must first understand where ideas came from and for what cause?
In this webinar, Ms. Provides Ng shares findings from her recent action research study with architects in Hong Kong and London, which examines how GenAI tools are being adopted, challenged, and reimagined in real-world design workflows. Grounded in both theory and practice, the study traces three historical AI paradigms—Connectionism, Symbolism, and Actionism—and their influence on architectural practices today.
Ms. Provides Ng's research aims to steward a future where AI augments architects, rather than replaces us, fostering a more participatory and resilient design intelligence.
