Centre Street Soeng5 Lok6, an Urban Renewal Fund-funded project initiated in the Q4 of 2021, embodies the core concept of revitalising old districts with art, through community engagement. Its key visions include:
Transforming Centre Street into a Cultural Hub - Using Centre Street as a focal point, we aim to infuse artistic elements into an old neighbourhood filled with traditional shops and historic buildings, revitalising public spaces with creative energy;
Community Co-creation in Action - Our design process embraces co-creation principles, working hand-in-hand with residents and local schools to shape their ideal public spaces collaboratively;
Strengthening Community Bonds – Through public engagement initiatives, we facilitate cross-sector dialogues, connecting residents, designers, and artists in joint efforts to beautify the neighbourhood;
Weaving History into Contemporary Community - By collecting oral histories from residents and incorporating community input into designs, we are creating a living dialogue between past and present through collaborative art installations.
