HKCA/HKICM Joint Conference 2024
Construction at the Crossroads
In recent years, the construction workforce in Hong Kong has experienced unprecedented ageing and manpower shortage. The issue is further escalated as next generation talents show little interest in joining the industry. Despite effort in introducing innovative technology to raise productivity and attract newcomers, many medium and small sized companies still find it difficult to reap the benefits due to a limitation of resources. With the theme of “Construction at the Crossroads”, the Conference co-organized by Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM) and Hong Kong Construction Association (HKCA) will address the constraints and challenges the construction industry faces, and identify ways that lead us to a thriving future.

Venue: Grand Ballroom, Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel
The Conference has already confirmed the presence and speaking sessions of UK and mainland experts, a number of department leaders from the Hong Kong SAR Government, local decision makers from private sectors. They include Director of Buildings Ms. YU Po Mei, Clarice, JP, Director of Civil Engineering and Development Mr Michael Fong, JP, Chairman of Construction Industry Council Ir Thomas HO, JP, and Executive Director of New World Development Company Limited Ir Eric Ma GBS, JP. Also speaking at the Conference are senior technology company representatives including Topcon Positioning Systems from the United Kingdom, China Mobile (中国移动), as well as Bright Dream Robotics (博智林机器人公司).
