Synopsis
The environmental impact assessment (EIA) system of Hong Kong has recently aroused considerable public attention, particularly with respect to some large infrastructure projects and the belief that it has caused significant delay in project implementation. In this talk, Prof. Lam will highlight the unique features and remit of the Hong Kong EIA process and discuss how we can streamline and expedite the process without compromising its purpose of pre-empting problems and protecting the environment.
