HKIA-HKU Department of Architecture Collaborated Lecture – “The Right to Joy”

A collaboration lecture between HKIA and HKU Department of Architecture will be held on 17 April 2023 (Mon) at 6:30pm - 8:00pm with details as follows:

Speaker bio:

Madhura Prematilleke is a Sri Lankan Architect and Urban Designer.

His practice -tA, teaM Architrave, Colombo- has a commitment to urbanity and an ethos of crafted modernity, with a strong engagement in creating verdant tropical environments in restricted urban contexts.

Madhura has long held a questioning approach to practice, grappling particularly with the paradoxes of consumption and sustainability.

Current contemplations include issues of how the pandemic and other upheavals have laid bare the extreme inequalities within the societies we live and work in, and how architects and architecture can remain relevant to these larger realities.
