Po Toi Island is the south most island in Hong Kong. Although not too many people live there but it still keeps the traditional cultural
Events Cantonese Opera together with the temporary bamboo theatre (戲棚) for Tin Hau Festival celebration. The bamboo theatre is the interpretation of built heritage and artistic values with its special craftsmanship and is built annually at the cliff next to the Tin Hau Temple at Po Toi Island. In this visit, Bamboo Master Chan Yuk Kwong will introduce the history and the construction of the bamboo structure there.

Community Architecture
「 Team Tombolo/ 連島計劃 」, a group formed by several HKU Architectural students, designed and built a simple pavilion by using wasted bamboo and metal pipes for the community there during Covid period. They also built a gabion wall near the pier for the community.

10:30am-11:15am: Tombolo introduction
11:45am-1:15pm: Bamboo Theatre introduction
1:15pm-2:30pm: Lunch time (self-arrangement, one store and restaurant there)
2:30pm-4:45pm: Island visit/ free time
4:45pm: Departure
5:35pm: Stanley Pier Arrival and dismiss
