Call for Volunteers Work for Residential Care Homes for the Elderly (RCHEs) Third-round Visit [Deadline by 2 January 2023, Noon]

A webinar was held by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) & PolyU Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation (JCDISI) in early May regarding “Better Prepare our Residential Care Home Providers for the 6th Wave”.
Several NGOs participated and shared their concerns and problems about infection control in their RCHEs in the 5th wave.
Many RCHEs operated by NGOs are in premises of public housing estates. The limited space and setting of such premises create challenges for them to improve ventilation and providing isolation room or bed space.
Environment & Sustainable Development Committee & Community Development Committee of HKIA together with HKIE BS Division, as a supporting organisation, formed a volunteer group to review the interior and architectural layout, drainage and general commented on the operation at the First-round Visit back in August.
The group visited 4 RCHEs and generally inspected the on-site environment including interior layout, the condition of ventilation and drainage arrangement etc.. Suggestion reports were issued after the visit.
