HKIA Relief and Supportive Actions on COVID-19
Announcement

Relief and Supportive Actions HKIA Council has taken, in response to the outbreak of COVID19, for our Members, our RPs and the community:

 

1.

To put forward concession in the membership fee for our individual members.

2.

To liaise with Development Bureau and Architectural Services Department to fight for:

- extending relief assistance to all of our RPs

- accelerating and devising more project opportunities of different scales for all of our RPs

3.

To liaise with Innovation and Technology Bureau on enhancing the flexibility for our RPs to apply for technology subsidies and support.

4.

Having appealed to LegCo Finance Committee for accelerating the funding approval for government projects, so as to support our RPs and Members.

5.

Having helped resolve, via liaison with BD, the problems encountered by our RPs and Members for BD’s special work arrangement.

6.

Working with ArchSD to facilitate more small scale build design competitions for HKIA Members.

7.

To provide timely information on build design competitions of different scales of places beyond Hong Kong, especially of Mainland China, to HKIA Members.

8.

To postpone the refurbishment works of HKIA premises for controlling expenditures.

9.

To adjust the staff establishment in the Secretariat to cope with a reduced budget.

10.

Holding a series of online seminars on Healthy Building Healthy City for both HKIA Members and members of the public.

11.

HKIA Volunteer Group has been formed to utilize Members’ architectural expertise to provide outreach services for the community, and to enhance public awareness towards maintaining healthy building, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
