Announcement on 10 December 2014

Dear Members,

On behalf of the Institute, I cordially invite you to participate in the HKIA Annual Awards 2014by nominating your outstanding architectural projects.

It is always the Institute's aim to "Build a Better Hong Kong, Promote Architectural Excellence". 2014 is the 50th anniversary of the HKIA Annual Awards. At this milestone, the Institute staged her first ever overseas exhibition in October and November 2014 at the RIBA Headquarters, London, United Kingdom. We introduced our strength, high storeys, and the evolution of Hong Kong architecture to our fellow UK architects by showcasing HKIA Annual Awards winning projects in the past 50 years. Visitors were amazed by Hong Kong's building high architecture.   It is the fruit planted by all of us, the Hong Kong architects, for years.

The Institute is also glad that Revitalization of Pak Tsz Lane Park, awarded with HKIA Merit Award of Hong Kong - Community Building, was awarded with the Award Friendly Spaces Accessible to All 2014 by the Union of International Architects (UIA). We strongly believe your works would be the next awarded internationally.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Jury Panel for their kindness in helping the judging process. Wisdom of jury panel has been promoting the standard of HKIA Annual Awards, which is essential to Hong Kong architectural too.

Participation and support to the Annual Awards exercise by us is vital to advancement of the profession. We sincerely look forward to your nominations to the HKIA Annual Awards 2014 soon.

Yours sincerely,
Cullen WONG
