Life originates from a cell. A cell is the smallest unit of life and the simplest form of life existence. As an approach to the construction of a space, design with passion can endow the space with vitality and life. What kind of surprise will it spark when a cell meets design?

A Cell as the Led

Being a high-tech enterprise in the field of life science, it sources life in nature. From that inspiration, it then takes the organic forms of cells in nature as the design concept. This project generates a sense of clarity and simplicity through the spacious layout of space with white and blue colors, and through the selection and arrangement of furniture and decorative lighting, as well as the wall design and flooring. It emphasises the uniqueness and beauty of curved lines and irregular forms of a variety of cells in the space, and achieves a rich and interesting office environment.

Activating Cells, Infinite Creativity

The design sets a circular front desk at the entrance to contrast with  the irregular hexagonal feature wall, which becomes the perfect beginning for “The Story of a Cell”. Through the abundance of geometrical elements, a sense of rhythm and atmosphere of science and technology is strengthened.

Scattered throughout the floors, the small but transparent areas compose the office space. Different from traditional means, it has an unusual approach for the ceiling. In some areas, it depicts a universe, with black hollow ceiling lights inlaid with various cell elements in different sizes. In other areas, it illustrates a starry scene, with streamlined lighting belts and spotlights resembling stars in the white colored drop ceiling. It is a place that cells gather together for free chatting.

The extensive balcony is designed with inspiration from the DNA double helix structure, making the view even better. There is no disharmony created between the rich greenness from the lawn and plants, and the cement from modern industry. Furthermore, the water from the fountain creates a quiet song when it travels from the fountain to the lawn, giving life to the whole balcony while also satisfying irrigation.

Penetrating Space, Unlimited Vision

Besides the irregular round glass window in the meeting room, there are large applications of glass walls to the office, which is one of the design highlights. It is an open and transparent office space, but it still maintains flexibility for functional division. It also helps to form a tight and orderly structured space with definite functions.

It not only increases the vastness of the view, but also conveys the spirit of the enterprise: being open and equal. With no walls and doors, people working here feel no pressure or constriction. By getting along with each other in an active and friendly office atmosphere, people can increase their work efficiency to achieve the best work results.

Eco Greening, Everlasting Vitality

This project also emphasises the importance of ecology and greening. This is interpreted through the selection of materials with the concept of "low carbon and environmental protection". There are no luxury ceramic tiles and carpets, but raw cement floor. It introduces colors such as blue, white, and black to adorn the space, with a breath of art aesthetics in the modern industry background. It generates a creative working environment to inspire infinite scientific innovations.

The ceiling presents an amazing, vivid image by using ceiling lights designed with various cell elements. In fact, this outcome also follows the concept of eco-greening. It uses three-ply board and plastic cloth for the shade, which is energy saving and minimalist in design. To liven the rigid office, green plated walls and potted plants are introduced, which purifies the air, improves virescence, and decorates the environment.

The aim of the design is to endow the space with life and vitality. It provides a nature-like blue ocean to experience the magical evolution of single-cell creatures. It brings vitality to the space through ample cell elements, and it induces spatial tension by the dynamic streamlined modeling. In such an office full of life, vitality and art aesthetics, people can always search for the profound mystery of life within their basic structure.
