BACKGROUND
Announced in the Policy Addresses in 2021 and 2022 the Northern Metropolis (NM) is a core developments which will shape the future of Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) is planning a two-day related events to explore the sustainable development of the Northern Metropolis. Day 1 Forum is a meeting of academics and researchers to provide an understanding of the current context and their visions. Day 2 Workshop brings together building professionals, environmentalists, cultural heritage experts, and concerned stakeholders to generate constructive suggestions for this significant project.
DAY 2 - THE WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE
The Workshop will have two sessions: a morning and an afternoon one. The morning session will include presentations on the Northern Metropolis by government representatives, professional organizations, and specialists, including HKIA, HKIUD, HKIP, HKIS, HKILA, HKICON, HKIE, WWF, The Conservancy Association, former Under Secretary and Secretary for the Environment, Ms. Christine Loh and Ar. KS Wong.
In the afternoon, there will be a moderated discussion of the morning presentations, followed by group workshops for participants to discuss and consolidate their ideas. Each group will present their suggestions, and the forum will end with a summary of the gathered suggestions.
