Bank of China (Hong Kong) New Concept Branch Radio City Building 2012

Bank of China HK engaged One Space to help rejuvenate their retail banking offering. We developed not only a refreshed brand identity, but also a wholly new customer service model that brings together staff and customers in a more open, friendly and accessible manner. This prototype branch includes three floors of banking and a major fa?ade re-design.

BRUNEBLONDE The Grand Hyatt Hotel, Hong Kong 2013

BRUNEBLONDE salon at Hong Kong's Grand Hyatt Hotel, is the brainchild of two of the region's best known stylists.
The principal design challenge was to create an exclusive and relaxing customer setting, whilst sustaining the sometimes demanding conditions that any beauty establishment entails.
In response, we created a sumptuous "Parisian apartment" setting, reminiscent of those grand salon interiors of the 1940's, featuring an 8m-long hand-crafted wall in highly polished copper as a centerpiece of the composition.

Cambridge House Residence 2011

The bachelor owner of this 1,400 square foot flat approached One Space to design his home from a bare-shell state and his primary focus was on creating a 'personal sanctuary' - a very private place for repose, reading, and listening to music.
Being a 'foodie', however, our client also very much enjoys entertaining, and does so for a few close friends and business associates several times per year. It would was imperative to develop a highly-impactful, yet comfortable living-&-dining area that could accommodate up to 10 people at a seated dinner, or up to 75 at a cocktail party. This same space must of course provide a relaxing and cosy atmosphere for the host alone at all other times, making for an interesting design challenge.

Manchester United Office at 50 Connought Road 2011

Occupying an entire floor in a brand new, Grade A building in Hong Kong's Central District, the Club's premises are divided into two parts: Client Suites and Workplace.
Upon arrival, ManU's guests are treated to a truly immersive football club experience from the front door. By contrast, the ManU Workplace is pragmatic, adaptable, modern, clean and open, exploiting the full-height windows and high ceilings. The brand colours are used discerningly, to create a pleasant and creative work environment.
Here, our task was to interpret into the Hong Kong environment a design standard established in the UK, but led by its American owners' vision of what ManU could become under new funding arrangements. This required us to anticipate the various cultural expectations of a range of Asian sponsors and at the same time to adapt the workplace to the Club's largely Hong Kong Chinese workforce.

HSBC Executive Floor 1 Queen's Road Central 2008

The strikingly modern interior presents a revitalised arrival and reception experience for the executives' high-profile guests. The executive's own offices are largely transparent. A somewhat enigmatic 'veil' embedded into the continuous floor-to-ceiling glass office fronts is achieved with two layers of crisply scored glass illuminated by LED lighting.

HSBC Headquarters Building Extension 1 Queen's Road Central 2006

One Space designed the first major modification to this iconic landmark, creating a more cordial customer reception experience whilst discreetly enhancing access control for the entire building. The HSBC plaza, set beneath its signature soaring atrium overhead, is one of Hong Kong's most beloved public spaces, demanding sensitivity in both design and construction.

Senrigan Capital LHT Tower 2011

One Space is proud to have designed Senrigan's offices on three occasions as they grown, supporting their impressive trajectory and maturation. With a focus on creating the right environment to establish and grow their new enterprise, the client briefed our design team with extraordinary clarity, philosophical resolve, aesthetic acumen and attention to detail. The resulting collaboration produced a modest, yet striking interior that describes well a prudently managed fund making its ascent against a challenging economic climate. The monochromatic simplicity that defined the fund's start-up identity is retained here, with only judicious use of their brand colour blue.

Julius Baer, Exchange Square Hong Kong

Julius Baer, a renowned Swiss private bank, engaged One Space to design and manage their total transformation of two floors at the Exchange Square headquarters. The project was carried out in 3 phases. We designed: Client reception and meeting suites demanding the highest degree of confidentiality; private dining room and catering; boardroom with videoconferencing and harbour views; and a highly transformable set of rooms accommodating ad hoc staff discussions, coffee lounge, training facility, 'town hall' sessions and other large scale get-togethers. In addition, workplace floors for back-office functions, relationship managers and COO offices were included. Our palette of luxuriant materials, focused lighting, signature furnishings and rich colours conveys the passion, commitment and excellence that defines the Julius Baer brand.

Zurich Insurance Office at One Island East 2013

This project successfully re-stacked 310 staff, previously accommodated across 3 floors, onto 1-1/2 floors. This dramatic increase in density opened a clear opportunity to facilitate valuable staff interactions that would arise from these heightened adjacencies.
We therefore developed a robust planning strategy utilising bench-style desking, reduced number of cellular offices and fundamentally different meeting and gathering spaces.
The all-important corollary to such a strategy is the creation of social zones and shared spaces that compensate for the loss of personal space at the workstation. In a win-win proposition, this meant that the wide range of daily tasks can be better accommodated by facilities designed specifically to support them, rather than 'making do' with the inflexible, one-size-fits-all 'desks + rooms' model. Our concept revolves around the need to create 'agile' workspace, generated by a combination of carefully calibrated densification and a meaningful increase in both the quantity and quality of collaboration space.

Pixel Box 1 Hysan Avenue 2007

Our design for this film post-production house sharpens our expertise in integrated multimedia and architectural design. Occupying an entire floor of this 1960's building, this start-up company wanted its space to reinforce the creative output of its youthful, energetic team. A fully-fitted cinema captures the imagination of their clients as the finished product is brought to life.
