13 plus 1.jpg

3 plus 1

Ho Man Tin Hill Road, Hong Kong
This exceptionally low floor to ceiling height 650 sq. meters apartment emits a strong sense of spatial horizontality; Spaces seem to float from one zone to the other through specific choice of materials to maximize this visual extension to the outside world. Indirect lighting illuminate the top and bottom of the built-in cabinet to minimize the less-than-comfortable effect of the uncommonly low ceiling height.

All plywood formworks remain on site will be treated and recycled as future furniture pieces fabricated by the occupants themselves in the woodwork training workshop. They are participants in building their own home.

Blue House 1.jpg

Blue House Redevelopment

Wan Chai, Hong Kong
The design of the Blue House Cluster takes on the theme of blending the old with the new while keeping intact the historical lineage and the spirit of the place. We have introduced the Hong Kong Kung Fu Institute as a revitalization element to activate the Blue House since its heritage traces back to Martial Art Master Wong Fai Hung.

0House Z 4.jpg

House Z

Xin Hui, China
A vacation house for three generations to occupy simultaneously while maintaining their individuality and privacy. We have created two houses with a void in the middle for the grandparents and the children/grandchildren so that they can have absolute independency if desire. A "bridging" element which houses the master bedrooms becomes a formal connection of the two houses.

0Imperial Court 3.jpg

Imperial Court

Mid Levels, Hong Kong
The project challenges the three-bedroom residential layout typically found in most Hong Kong apartment blocks. Three gently curve walls, painted in white but with different surface textural treatment, replaced the original rectilinear layout that defines each rooms. The result is a spatial fluidity which dissolves the original dark corridor space into interconnected rooms.

Oi Ling 1.jpg

Oi Ling Antiques

Hollywood Road, Hong Kong
The idea is to unify the three storey antique shop with a single element that visitor can identify with from far away. A display system is designed adjacent to the shop front. It runs through the entire three storey and act as a unifying element visually. The display system also allows flexibility in adjusting the position of the displaying items with integrated lighting strategy as well.

Tapered House 1.jpg

Tapered House

Shunde, China
The house is divided into two distinctive yet connected parts: The Display Gallery and the Working/living Studio. The Gallery houses Bruce Lee's rare memorabilia with carefully positioned window openings to control sunlight and views. Connected to the gallery is the living studio where it has direct access to the garden. The openness of the garden is balanced by the elongated mass, giving it a sense of enclosure and privacy. It also acts as a buffer and back-drop for the garden to the "world-beyond."

V CWB 1.jpg

V-Causeway Bay

Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
Density and Compactness are like Siamese Twins. The project investigates the idea on individuality within collective livings. Given the compact living conditions in Hong Kong, we designed over 53 variations on layout and design for all 135 units. There is no TYPICAL room in this project. All units fit like a game of TETRIS within a straight forward post and beam concrete structural system.

Ztampz - Matheson Street

Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
Non-rectilinear planes were used to pay homage to the site's unique shape. We pushed the storefront back to create a wider sidewalk so the public would have a moment to pause and look at the window display of this trendy fashion boutique in a hustling and bustling shopping district in Hong Kong.
