Aqua Privies

Renovation to a group of 80 "aqua privies" (dry toilets) in the New Territories for Food and Environmental Hygiene Department including provision of flushing water and drainage connection where available. The toilet facilities are modernized, appearance improved and hygiene standards brought up to current requirements.

HK Police EOD Depot

New buildings for storage and teaching facilities for the Hong Kong Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit. The layout and design of individual buildings had to follow the stringent safety and security requirements. Worth mentioning is the group of new earth sheltered storage facilities which are rarely built in Hong Kong.

HKACS Jockey Club Rehab Centre

Executive architect for a Hong Kong Jockey Club funded project turning the ex-Nam Long Hospital to a private cancer rehabilitation centre operated by the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society involving replanning of the facilities, upgrading the building fabric and creating a "home-away-from-home" for cancer patients.
Year of Completion - 2007

Sai Kung iObservatory

A new 2-storey observatory building housing conference room, exhibition space and roof deck supporting a 60cm dia. telescope with dome for the Hong Kong Space Museum. The building sits on top of a hill in the Lady Maclehose Holiday Village taking advantage of the open sky available for astronomical observation.

Sai Kung ORC Recreation Bldg

A replacement structure for Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre's previous badly deteriorated building. The challenge was to have the new building follow the old building form but equipped with modern facilities. A simple portal frame suspending a pitched metal roof echoes the simplicity of the old structure.

Sai Wan Ho Municipal Services Bldg

Major refurbishment of external walls of the 1980's built Sai Wan Ho Municipal Services Building with a fresh and contemporary appearance on the podium elevations. The 3-dimensional modulated fa?ades successfully enliven the most public face of the building.

Sheung Wan Civic Centre

A challenging project which turned the aged facilities of the centre to a contemporary venue meeting the demands of various artistic productions. The challenge was to tackle the many specialist technical issues and success hinged on sensitive choice of materials, colour schemes, acoustic treatment and strategic re-planning of the facilities.

Trade Department Tower

Major refurbishment of the external walls of the Trade and Industry Department Tower podium located at a high traffic pollution area of Mong Kok. The design aimed for a simple but slick appearance. Careful choice of materials and detailing helped minimize the effects of the polluting agents.

Transtech Photonics

Major alteration and addition works to an existing industrial building in Tai Po Industrial Estate converting it for production of fibre-optic cables - the first of its kind ever built in Hong Kong. The conversion work included turning parts of the existing building into clean rooms, laboratories and new workshops.

Wong Tai Sin Integrated Family Service Centre

Major conversion of the ex-Chuk Yuen Children's Reception Centre in Wong Tai Sin for Social Welfare Department as a pioneering "Integrated Family Service Centre" providing a modern, lively and informal centre for people in special needs as well as casual visitors from the local population.
