The predominantly white background in common areas is a perfect foil to the strong corporate accent colours and numerous arrays of monitors featuring a stream of Bloomberg news and financial information. The open plan break-out area near the entrance is a signature element of all Bloomberg offices worldwide.
Moving from their former location at New World Tower, Chong Hing Bank is now comfortably housed in their own headquarters on Des Voeux Road. The 60,000 SF premises centralises all of the bank's operations under one roof, with the first floor double-height banking hall opening directly onto the street.
An open ceiling in the reception area dramatises the space at the Electronic Arts premises in Singapore, where software writers toil into the night developing new games. The entrance floor is in bamboo with a carpet-tile 'road' leading guests to the Breakout Area/Screening Room for new product launches and cocktail receptions.
In satisfying the owner's basic requirements for privacy at this facility, an unusually serene environment was created. Arriving patients are ushered into private consultation rooms that contrast in both colours, which are bright, and textures, which are warm and fuzzy, with the overall environment of smooth white walls, floors and ceilings.
The privately-funded Hong Kong Maritime Museum comprises two galleries, ancient and modern, and is located in one of Hong Kong's few remaining mid-19th Century heritage buildings: Murray House, in Stanley. In addition to viewing artifacts and scholarly texts, visitors may also make use of numerous interactive exhibits which provide real-time learning opportunities.
On a very limited budget and constrained by a phased construction process spread out over a period of several months, this office in Causeway Bay has been transformed. The IMG stable of superstar athletes, entertainers and fashion icons is now on permanent display, from the moment the lift doors open.
Planning of this new premises in Quarry Bay had to incorporate no less than fifteen departments comprising 300 staff, a jigsaw puzzle that was resolved around a common entrance giving access to a series of variously sized conference rooms. Super-graphic and furniture finish colours are unmistakably JEC orange and blue.
Working directly with the LVMH group in Paris, this project was drawn and documented in Hong Kong and completed to a very high standard of workmanship. As well as the retail interior, the project included Louis Vuitton signature facades both to the street and to the internal shopping arcade.
The new McDonald's Restaurants office on two plus floors of Dorset House in Quarry Bay makes liberal use of the colours and imagery familiar to all of us from McDonald's outlets worldwide. This project also incorporates state-of-the-art technology for audio visual display systems in both the public and semi-public areas.
Incorporating horizontally etched glass as well as timber, fabric, stone, bamboo flooring and distinctive lighting, the design of this 16,000 SF office in ICBC Tower marks a wonderful departure from the firm's previous environment. It achieves a much more contemporary, yet still very solid image, in keeping with company tradition.
