Synopsis
In order to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community and to improve the healthcare service quality, the HKSAR Government has set aside a dedicated provision of HK$470 billion in total for the two 10- year Hospital Development Plans (HDPs) in 2016 and 2019 respectively, which involve not only construction of new hospitals and supporting service centres, but also redevelopment/extension of existing hospitals.
Sr. Daniel C Lam served as a member of the Hospital Authority for 6 years. He was the Chairman of the Support Services Development Committee and the Chairman of the Management and Operation of Hospitals.
In this webinar, Sr. Daniel C Lam will present the aim, planning and design of new hospital projects. Upholding the concept of the people-first philosophy, the development of smart hospitals including the use of information and digital technologies shall be the main focus. Sr. Daniel C Lam will also discuss the challenges of applying modern technologies in the data- driven era in hospital design and planning.
