Synopsis
Around the globe, there are countries which have established policy of adopting architectural competitions as a procurement method for public works so as to elevate the quality of the built environment and to improve the pride of the citizens, while some other countries have provisions in their cultural policy to identify and incubate young talents through organizing architectural competitions and to promote their innovation and influence on architectural design as a nation’s cultural or innovation outputs. Representatives from four different regions are invited to share their experience on the conduct of architectural competitions and the implementation of projects in their cultural context and procurement systems.
