The International Union of Architects (UIA) announced that UIA2021RIO, the 27th World Congress of Architects, has a new web address ( www.uia2021rio.archi ) and will now be incorporating themes brought to light by the coronavirus pandemic - architects have a big part to play!
Initially scheduled for July 2020, the 27th World Congress of Architects will now be held on 18-22 July 2021 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The world will no longer be the same after the corona virus pandemic. This is almost a consensus, where ever the current global crisis is under discussion. And what will derive from the pandemic? Transferred to July 2021, the 27th World Congress of Architects will be a great opportunity to get together again, and a wonderful place to discuss and propose ways of social and spatial organisation that ensure healthy occupancy of the planet. From this standpoint, most of the speakers confirmed for the 2020 event have already replied to the World Congress Executive Committee, with assurances that they will be there in 2021 with significant content.
