UIA Daylight Talk Series - STÉPHANIE BRU
Overseas

On 2 June at 18:00 Paris timeTechnische Universitat Braunschweig is presenting a talk by Paris-based architect and Professor Stéphanie Bru as part of the 2022 Daylight Talks series. A graduate of Paris-Belleville School of Architecture, Bru co-founded the Bruther agency in Paris with Alexandre Theriot in 2008. Mainly engaged in realisations in France, the agency has been recognised for its signature open infrastructures that adapt to an abundance of contextual possibilities and malleability of uses.

The Bruther agency works in the fields of architecture, research, education, urban planning and landscape and focuses on “conceptual and constructive needs but also … new areas of experimentation.”  The firm received the Mies Van Der Rohe Award in 2015 for the Centre Culturel et Sportif Saint-Blaise in Paris and the Swiss Architecture Prize in 2020.  Bruther Agency is a three-time recipient of the Equerre d'argent architecture award: for a student residence in Palaiseau (2020), a residence for researchers at the Cité internationale in Paris (2018) and for a new research centre in Caen (2016).

Organised by the VELUX Group in collaboration with individual schools of architecture and endorsed by the UIA and the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE), the Talks explore the significance of natural light in architecture and will present prominent architects and educators working consciously and qualitatively with daylight in their projects and educational programmes.

Hosted by TU Braunschweig, the event will be presented by Helga Blocksdorf, the head of the Institute of Building Construction at TU Braunschweig, from where it will be transmitted live for 45 minutes followed by an open 30 minutes of Q&A session. Participation is free.
