Joint Professional Forum: "Study on the Artificial Islands in the Central Waters"
Local
With Hong Kong's strategic position as one of the core cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) under the 14th Five-Year Plan and the Outline Development Plan for the GBA and Lantau's role as the "Double Gateway" to connect Hong Kong to the world and other cities in the GBA, the Kau Yi Chau (KYC) artificial islnads are not only one of the key initiatives under the Lantau Tomorrow Vision as announced in the Chief Executive's (CE's) 2018 Policy Address (PA) but also become part of the expanded Harbour Metropolis for supporting Hong Kong's status of an international financial centre as initiated in the CE's 2021 PA.

The Study is exceedingly significant and complex in nature that calls for a continuous engagement of professionals in various disciplines as well as public on soliciting views in the community level.  In such context, a Joint Professional Forum is convened to collect suggestions and exchange views on the development of the KYC artificial islands which also facilitates in-depth and cross-sector discussions among memebrs from HKIA, HKIE, HKILA, HKIP, HKIS and HKIUD.  Please also note that workshop(s) for young professionals will be conducted in early December 2021 with details to be announced soon.
