Sharing Session for Greater Participation of Consultants in Capital Works Projects of Hospital Authority
Local

Organized by Board of Practices

It was announced in the 2016 Policy Address that the Government had worked with the Hospital Authority to devise a long-term public hospital development plan in order to facilitate timely commencement, progression and completion of major public hospital development projects for meeting future service needs.  A dedicated provision of $200 billion was earmarked for the implementation of the first Hospital Development Plan (HDP) starting from 2016.  Subsequently, it was in the 2018 Policy Address that in parallel with the implementation of projects under the first HDP, the Government had invited the Hospital Authority to commence planning for the second Hospital Development Plan of 19 projects involving about $270 billion.

Having implemented the first HDP for a few years, HA would like to conduct a review on the procurement arrangement with a view to encouraging greater participation by consultants and contractors in the industry for the delivery of Hospital Authority’s capital projects.  In this connection, a sharing session with HKIA members would be held to collect views and comments before determining the way forward. A presentation will be given by representatives of HA followed by the floor discussion.
