Tour Synopsis

Hong Kong Housing Society has adopted the Hybrid Steel Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) method to build a 10-storey Elderly Home at Jat Min Chuen in Sha Tin, providing age-friendly units of studio design with an area of about 21m2 for aged 60 or above. The building has been named "Chung Yuet Lau" with the hope that it will bring longevity and delight to its residents.

This is the 1st Steel MiC project of Housing Society. The ground floor and the 1st floor will be constructed using traditional reinforced concrete, while the 2nd to 9th floor will be built with Steel MiC.

The project aims at promoting a more efficient use of Public Rental Housing resources, and implementing the project by MiC in support of the Chief Executive’s New Initiative in the 2018 Policy Address.
