本案業主為了方便兩個小孩就學及考量其未來成長的環境需要，從鄉間分散在聚落裡的大家庭獨立搬進城裡，但建築基地是城市街屋常見的狹長地形（W=10m , L=33m），兩側將來鄰房也極為相近，面對市區緊湊的環境，如何保有鄉間的綠意、採光、自在與安全成了本案的課題。
Concerning the environment for children’s further growth and education, the clients intend to relocate their family from the countryside to the city area. Sandwiched between adjoining similar houses, the site is a narrow and long townhouse (W=10m; L=33m).
With the tight composition of neighborhood, the way of design to retain as much greenery and natural day light as possible and keep security and privacy of inhabitants at the same time are the main challenges of this design practice.

設計的特色在於「複合」與「和諧」，即多樣的住宅類型，從高層住宅到多層洋房、再到低層聯排別墅，構成豐富空間形態和層次的整體社區，同時體現各種住宅類型間的和諧關係。建築從傳統居落汲取靈感，為居住者提供更好的識別性和社區歸屬感。外立面設計通過開窗及半封閉陽臺等元素提升防曬遮陽效果，也是對居民重視的私密性的尊重。由多層洋房和聯排別墅形成的半圍合式庭院空間，有效提高了居住密度，也形成尺度宜人的交往休憩場所。
The design features a "complex" and "harmony", namely, a variety of housing types, from the high-rise building to the multi-storey villa, until the low-storey townhouse, constituting a rich space form and an integrated community of multiple levels, and also reflecting the harmonious relationship between various types of residential buildings. The buildings get inspiration from the traditional residential, to provide a better sense of identity and community belonging to the residents. The facade design makes use of window and semi enclosed balcony and other elements to enhance the shading and sunscreen effect which is also to respect the privacy of the residents. The multi-storey villa and the townhouse form a semi enclosed courtyard space, thus to effectively improve the density of living, and to create a place of pleasant size for exchanges and social contact.

小琉球島上有大量既存的斜屋頂老屋，我們思考如何讓空間融入美好的地景中，嘗試利用不同的高低風口量體，讓其在基地上繁衍，向老建築學習，善用浮力通風讓室內物理環境舒適；跳脫以往對客廳的看法，以迎著風、看著海的概念去思考，讓居住者不再面對電視、而是自然風景的框景，伴隨大量陽光與海風，在每一個風口都有不同的生活事件，風口成為事件櫥窗，日常生活就是最好的風景，同時，在角落裡安排了留白，讓生活事件來填滿這一切。
There are a lot of original sloped ceilings houses in the surroundings which the new building should blend itself into the nature landscape. Therefore the new one is consisted by air-vents in 3 different levels of heights which utilize the nature flow of winds and make physical condition comfortable and eco-friendly at the same time.
Every vent as a window, displays all kinds of events. Without specific scripts and special sets, people stay in it are the best interpretations of their lives. Different scenes reveal different life experiences as a minimized and condensed real world.  Instead of facing TV in the living room all the time, people now are able to enjoy the natural, serene scenes of blue sky and sea. We insisted to simplify the designed outcome and make the space be able to be painted all the color of our lives.

廣州「藍山」項目位於廣州這座中國南部最大城市的近郊，這個複合型的住區有別於多數中國大城市中快速開發建設的住區。它的基本特色在於「複合」，即從高層住宅，到多層情景洋房，再到低層的聯排別墅以一種有機的方式組合在一起，構成了具有豐富空間形態和層次的整體社區。其次是「和諧」，既體現為各種住宅類型間的和諧關係，也包含建築群體與周圍自然環境的和諧，以及建築與地景之間的和諧——兩種不同的風格相互映襯，相得益彰。
Guangzhou "Lanshan" project is located in the suburb of Guangzhou, the largest city in the south of China, and after more than 4 years from the design to the construction, the compound residential shows some obviously different characteristics from the residential rapidly developed and constructed in most Chinese cities, standing as a light spot in the city area.
Firstly, the design features a "complex", namely, a variety of housing types, from the high-rise building to the multi-storey villa, until the low-storey townhouse, constituting a rich space form and an integrated community of multiple levels.
Secondly, it is "harmony", not only embodying the harmonious relationship between various residential types, but also including the harmony between architectural groups and the surrounding natural environment, as well as the architecture and landscape harmony – the two different styles set off each other and become better by each other.

西安華僑城.壹零捌坊地處西安市曲江新區核心區，大唐芙蓉園東側對面，唐城牆遺址公園北面。項目佔地面積174400㎡，建築面積17.44萬平方米，屬低密度社區。整體規劃結構尊重本地傳統及民居組合模式，以南北十字網格為主要構架，強調空間的等級與秩序，起承傳合，層層推進，將傳統里坊式規劃在這裡濃縮體現；其中，由六戶有機組成的「六合院」別墅是本項目設計最大特色，傳統與現代在此碰撞，賦予院落以新的生命。
Located in the cross section of eastern side of Datang Furong Garden and northern part of Tang City Wall Ruins Park, Yilingbafang of Xi’an OCT occupies the central area of Qujiang New District of Xi’an. Yilingbafang of Xi’an OCT covers 174,400 square meters of land while building area is 174.4 thousand square meters, which is within low-density community criteria.
Adopting traditional residential elements and emphasizing the level of space and order, the overall planning structure deploys the north-south cross grid as the main framework and concentrates on expression of the traditional Square-style planning.
Formed by six houses circling around together, the “Six Courtyard” villa planning is one of the most splendid spotlights in the design, which integrates both traditional and modern styles thus giving the courtyard a brand new definition.

大宅建基於現有的凹陷平台，遠眺香港仔隧道入口並被茂密樹木與低密度住宅項目包圍，這項目最大之挑戰性在於如何保持大宅之高私密度及確保大宅坐擁最佳景觀之間取得巧妙平衡。所有大宅之共用空間設於地面層，此層之設計概念是通過富流動性的空間佈局。並透過不同之玻璃窗及門，把室內及外之功能及生活模式連成一體，各生活及綠化空間一一交織在一起。鑑於有限之地盤空間及鄰近之住宅項目，大宅需有效地減低三層高之外觀體積。鋁金屬板用於頂層之外立面，輕巧地減低整體之重量。天然石材及有限度之小窗用於地面及首層之外牆，增加整體之莊嚴及典雅之大宅外觀。配合地面花園佈局、游泳池、草地與周邊環境的聯繫，令住戶進入一個寧靜的環境空間。
This 3-storeys single house redevelopment sits on an existing platform, accessible by a car ramp down from Shouson Hill Road. Facing open views towards the Wong Chuk Hang valley with surrounding low-rise developments and dense landscape, the main challenge of the project was to maximize the view aspect of the house and keeping a high degree of privacy. The 3-storey height of the house within its physical confines warranted an exterior design that would minimize its visual bulk.
Inside the house, interconnectivity can be sensed in every corner, where the interior spaces, exterior gardens, surrounding existing landscape and the open scenery can be merged and flowed into one another by the fluidity in planning and a balanced use of window and glass door openings onto the exterior of the house facades.
Within limited spatial confines of the site and close proximity to the surrounding neighbourhood, in order to enhance and minimize the 3-storey house's visual bulk, the top third storey is faced with metal cladding to achieve an appearance of calm and lightness.  Punched hole openings on the facades of the stone finished ground and second storeys provide a stately and refined outlook for the house.  Landscape elements, reflective pool and lawns on the ground level provide a homely and relaxing spatial experience with a sense of luxury duly imbedded for the overall development.

將建築碎化成35個小量體，使其如被微風吹拂般的些許錯位來呼應環境。隨著錯位將風、水引入住宅，並創造出讓住戶免於直射日照的遮蔭空間。所有的場所都可成為住戶舒適的佇足空間，創造出與自然共存的生活。
外牆為陽極處理鋁板，鋁板折射出的柔和光線可注入宛如位於溪谷底部如小溪流般的泳池。於室內前後方露臺及中庭等居住空間內眼睛所及、可觸摸的範圍則以不同的天然石材包覆。這些材料及細部創造出具現代感與自然共存的生活。
The architecture is separated into 35 small volumes and shifting flexibly by corresponding to the surrounding nature as if the volumes are lightly swinging in wind. The slight shifts of the volumes bring wind and water into the space, and protect people from the strong sun light.
The living volumes are enclosed either by brushed anodized aluminum, which reflect soft light into the space of deep valley with a stream on the bottom, or by 5 different types of natural stones for the terraces, courtyard and gardens, where people see and touch in the life. The materials and details create the life with nature in contemporary way.

房產開發，留給銷售中心的用地一般都比較緊張，本案也不例外。
盡可能節約成本完成銷售目標，是銷售中心最重要的職能，留給設計的預算本來就不多。

基於上述現實條件，本案的設計策略因需而設：
1. 合理功能佈局基礎上簡潔體型，通過玻璃通透處理，將銷售空間的內核突顯於外，吸引顧客眼球。
2. 運用拓撲學原理，在指向性明確的口部實現銷售空間的內裡外翻，引導顧客一探究竟。

設計為銷售中心帶來了人氣，便是對銷售工作最大的支持。

For real estate development, the site of sales center is usually small, our project is not excluded.
The most important function of sales center is to complete the sales target with lowest cost. And budget left for design is pity.

Base on the condition above, our design strategy is to do what is needed:
1. simply shape with reasonable function layout，highlight the core sales space with transparency glass, and catch the attention of customer
2. To drive the customer go inside and see what happened; the sales space is Inside-outed by both with a clear direction entrance and with the concept of topology.

The best to support the sales work, is to fill the sales center with people.

湖城大境項目位於曲江南湖西畔。項目將文化融入設計，利用西安傳統建築元素，打造多元豐富的居住小區，展現本地獨特的氣質與風采。

通過利用折線，形成編織狀的總體佈局規劃方案，利用空間佈局變化來強化居住環境的私密性，提升自然採光和通風，同時將南湖美景融入小區空間。幹道（文脈線）起到分配共享空間的作用，並有效緩和了大規模建設對南湖邊際線的視覺衝擊。項目同時通過提升綠化平臺將進出車流隱藏於地下，實現「延伸曲江園」的設計理念。

結合地塊有利的地理位置特點，建築及景觀在設計風格上營造本土特色，並盡量利用當地施工技術與材料，貫徹綠色可持續發展理念。

This project is located within South Lake region of Xian. The primary task of design is to harmonize modern dwellings within the local tradition, which unanimously illustrates itself in heritages, art works and historical motifs throughout the city.

A main architectural axis is created to strengthen and order the scheme. This key architectural space also acts as wind corridor which together with organic disposition and orientation of building, ensure site ventilation is optimized. Such planning also aids privacy and avoids interconnecting views, allowing residents to fully harvest lake views and natural daylight without worrying about being overseen.

A vehicular free environment is also created to remove visual, physical and atmospheric nuisance (in the way of noise and air pollution) from the primary internal and external living places. This clear and clean segregation encourages a more poetic interaction with the environment of the lake, enhancing its natural quality.

Vernacular materials are selected to strengthen the local characteristics and enhance sustainability at the same time. Rich bricks, local timber create a varying color palette representing the traditional Chinese ideology.

本案的概念建基於一幅景觀不太完全理想的地塊上，並銳意將不理想的景觀扭轉成為景觀較佳的住宅發展項目。

同時，本案藉著 「借景」，重新探討傳統獨立房屋的形態，打破 「長方盒子」的慣例。

有別於一般觀念，「長方盒子」 是最實用的獨立房屋。本案刻意將長方盒子扭曲，除為了較佳景觀外，更希望能締造出建築、室內與園林之間的互動關係。

本方案更採取大量燈光效果，豐富的園林設計及特式水池，以營造當代的生活態度。

The Residential Development, The Woods is an attempt to re-define the Typology of Residential Massing with a breakthrough by re-organizing and re-considering the inter-relationship of the components of residential blocks. The Twisted Boxes are an attempt to dismantle the monotony of conventional boxes of residential massing for achieving best of the site asset, manipulating the best of the view but screening off the undesirable objects.
The Twisted Boxes create interesting spatial quality internally with unconventional internal staircases. In addition, the “Home Sweet Home” ambience is dramatized by intensive Lighting ambience, both externally and internally, by the rich plantation from Entrance Portals to Pool Edge, as well as by the tranquilities suggested by the Reflective Pools throughout the landscape. The Twisted Boxes, with the aid of unconventional Lightness, Airiness and Tranquility, all added up to foster a strong sense and taste of contemporary and stylish living habitat.
