The Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau together with the financial regulators Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Securities and Futures Commission are going to set up a Financial Dispute Resolution Center (FDRC) in June 2012. FDRC is a non-profit making company to administer an independent financial dispute resolution scheme for consumers to resolve monetary disputes with financial services providers. The financial dispute resolution scheme administered by the FDRC comprises mediation and arbitration. A List of Mediators and Arbitrators will be maintained by the FDRC to mediate claims above HK$100,000, and to arbitrate all claims failing mediation subject to claimants’ choice. Please refer to the attached file for details.
Mediators and Arbitrators under the Lists of HKIA or those under the list of the seven other participating service providers of the Joint Mediation Helpline Office are invited to express your interest to apply for admission to the FDRC List of Mediators and Arbitrators by 9 December 2011.
