The Board of Practices (BP) oversees matters relating to private members practices, such as fee scale, job opportunities, small practices, etc.

The Board currently has 6 Committees:

1. Business Promotion Committee
   Promote corporate members' work within and outside of HK, ie China, SE Asia, Middle East etc Provide and disseminate information of possible projects/possibilities within and outside of HK as well as working environment of these countries/places.


2. Practice Issues Committee
   Discuss with Government, semi-Government, organizations/corporations/authorities, REDA, NGOs on terms of procurement, problems related to consultancies. Promote corporate members' work to the above bodies.


3. Legal and Finance Committee
   Deal with set-up of practices ( and/or branch offices) in HK and outside of HK; management of office practices( hard copies or electronic filing), salaries and fees. Deal with taxation (HK and overseas), insurances and professional liability issues.


4. Membership Committee
   Deal with membership problems. Deal with corporate sponsors. Promote better communication and networking within Corporate Members Attend to special issues confronting Small Practices


5. Contract and Dispute Resolution Committee
   The Committee mainly looks after matters on the following two aspects:
   1. Standard Form of Building Contract
   2. Dispute Resolution
   3. Architects practice issue related to Standard Form of Building Contract and dispute resolution (e.g. expert witness)


6. Registered Practice Management Committee
   1. Provide guidelines and criteria for the inclusion and renewal of the List of Band 3 Architectural Consultants of HKIA (Band 3 List)
   2. Undertake the annual updating and renewal of the Band 3 List
   3. Maintain the Band 3 List for public reference
